Medicare

Medicare doesn't have to be complicated.

Medicare has many moving parts — and the decisions you make at enrollment can affect your coverage and costs for years. I help you understand every option, compare plans across every carrier available in your area, and choose the coverage that fits your health and your budget. At no cost to you.

Understanding the parts of Medicare

I walk you through each part in plain language so you can make an informed decision — not just pick a plan because it has a low premium.

Part A

Hospital Insurance

Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health services. Most people don't pay a premium for Part A if they or their spouse paid Medicare taxes while working.

Part B

Medical Insurance

Part B covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment. There is a monthly premium, and most people pay the standard amount — though higher earners pay more through IRMAA.

Part C

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurers and bundle Part A, Part B, and usually Part D into one plan. Many include extra benefits like dental, vision, and hearing. I compare plans across every carrier available in your area.

Part D

Prescription Drug Coverage

Part D covers prescription drugs. Plans vary significantly in which drugs they cover and what you pay. I help you match a Part D plan to your specific medications so you're not overpaying at the pharmacy.

Medigap

Medicare Supplement

Medigap plans fill the cost-sharing gaps that Original Medicare leaves behind — deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. They work alongside Original Medicare and give you predictable out-of-pocket costs. I explain every lettered plan and help you decide if a Supplement is right for you.

Common Medicare questions

When do I sign up for Medicare?

Your Initial Enrollment Period is a 7-month window that starts 3 months before the month you turn 65. Missing it can result in permanent late enrollment penalties. I help you track your dates and enroll on time.

Can I keep my doctor?

It depends on the plan type. Original Medicare with a Supplement gives you the broadest access — any provider who accepts Medicare nationwide. Medicare Advantage plans have networks. I check your doctors before recommending any plan.

What if I am still working at 65?

If you have employer coverage, you may be able to delay Medicare without penalty. The rules depend on the size of your employer. I walk you through the coordination rules so you don't accidentally trigger a late enrollment penalty.

How much does Medicare cost?

Part A is usually premium-free. Part B has a standard monthly premium (2026: $202.90/month). Medicare Advantage plans often have $0 premiums but have networks and cost-sharing. Supplements have premiums but low out-of-pocket costs. I help you model the total cost — not just the premium.

Do I need a drug plan if I take no medications?

Enrolling in a Part D plan when you are first eligible — even a low-cost one — protects you from the late enrollment penalty if you need drugs later. I help you find the lowest-cost option that keeps you covered.
